#62: The Community is Back & What we are building Next!
PM news, expert insights, Community and Conference updates, open roles, and events to help you grow your career and network.
đ« UXCam October eventâour first community roundtable.
After a year of building our conference, sharing moments, and learning what actually works (and what spectacularly doesnât), itâs time we got in a room together.
No polished presentations. No case studies where everything worked perfectly. Just 20 of us around a table, sharing the messy middle: the dead ends, the pivots, the âoh shitâ moments that taught us more than any framework ever could.
This is what happens when a year of solo building meets collective wisdom. The AI product community is finally getting togetherânot to present, but to learn from each otherâs scars and wins.
Come with a story. Come with a problem. Come ready to discover that everyone else is figuring this out too.
đ What Weâre Building Next?
The conference is behind us, and honestly? We needed the breather. But now weâre back with clear focus for the month ahead.
First: all conference talks are going free on YouTube and our Recap here on Substack. The conversations were too good to keep locked away. If you missed it or want to revisit a session, theyâre coming your way soon.

Again, thanks and kudos to Daniele and the ProductLab team for putting together a fantastic dayâitâs not an easy feat! Note also that there were three parallel tracks: the sessions I attended and have summarized here donât represent the whole conference.
Second: weâre getting a fresh look. Weâve brought on a product designer to reimagine how ProductLab shows up. A year of building taught us what mattersânow itâs time the brand reflects that.
Third: planning 2026. Our new Advisor & Conference board member
is joining us this month to map out the futureâwhich topics actually matter, which workshops are worth doing, and who needs to be in the room. This isnât about getting bigger; itâs about getting better.November is our strategy month. Less doing, more thinking about what comes next.
More updates as we go.

Lennyâs Newsletter, discusses Ethan Smithâs lessons on how, in the AI era, being mentioned everywhere matters more than ranking first. Early startups can now compete with big brands simply by being helpful and visible across platforms like Reddit, YouTube, and blogs.
Marty Cagan explains that prototypes arenât for building the final product; theyâre for discovering whether a solution is worth building. With new AI-powered tools like Lovable and Bolt, live-data prototypes are now cheaper and faster, making product discovery more accessible than ever.

Leah Tharin breaks down how product managers can move beyond âjust shippingâ to become truly strategic. Her framework shows how mastering a clear, reliable roadmap and balancing table stakes, differentiators, and focus earns trust from leadership and drives real business impact.
